Natural stone floors and counters are not the only surfaces we work on. Often times standard tile and grout has many of the same problems that floors of natural stone, such as travertine, do. Some porcelain and ceramic tiles can have a slight texture to them and or can have irregular tile edges leaving large grout lines. Textured surfaces provide a lot of low spots for soils to collect over time. Just like the low spots in the tile texture the grout joint is a natural collection point for soils. This results in drastic discoloration over time.
More often than not though we are able to restor the floor to a like new condition as can be seen in the before and after from a recent tile cleaning project.
